You don't have to face this alone.

A cancer diagnosis changes everything. The Good Boy Foundation is here — with financial help, trusted resources, emotional support, and compassionate guidance — for every step of the road ahead.

GBF is a small, community-funded nonprofit. Our financial assistance grants are subject to available funds at the time of your application. We will always do our best for every family who reaches out — and even when we cannot provide financial assistance, we will connect you with every resource we know of. No family is turned away without support.

How We Support You

If your dog has been diagnosed with cancer and you're facing costs you can't cover, GBF offers grants to help with treatment, surgery, medication, and specialist care. Grants are paid directly to your veterinary clinic. Apply below and we'll review your case as quickly as we can.

Financial Assistance

Finding the right oncologist, a clinical trial that fits, or another funding source shouldn't feel like a full-time job. We've curated a library of trusted resources — national assistance programs, veterinary oncology specialists, clinical trial databases, and more — so you can spend your energy where it matters most.

Resource Referrals

The fear, the waiting, the decisions that feel impossible — cancer is one of the hardest things a dog family goes through. You don't have to go through it alone. We'll connect you with other families who have been there, and with our community of people who understand what you're carrying.

Emotional Support

When treatment is no longer the path forward, there are still so many decisions to navigate — quality of life, comfort care, timing, grief. We have resources for that, too. Whenever you need them.

End of Life Support

Every dog deserves a fighting chance. And every family who loves a dog deserves support. That's why we're here — and why we'll keep fighting for both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does my dog have to have a specific type of cancer to qualify?

A: No. We do not restrict by cancer type. If your dog has a confirmed diagnosis and an active treatment plan, you are welcome to apply.

Q: How much financial assistance can GBF provide?

A: Our grants currently range from $250 to $1,500, depending on the need and funds available at the time of review. We are a small nonprofit and our ability to help depends entirely on donations we've received. We are always honest about this.

Q: Is there an income requirement?

A: There is no income cap. We assess financial need holistically — describe your situation honestly in the application and we will do our best.

Q: How long does the application process take?

A: We aim to respond to every application within 5–7 business days. Response time depends on the volume of applications and on how quickly your veterinary clinic can provide records or estimates if we need them.

Q: If I'm declined, do I hear anything?

A: Yes. Every applicant hears from us — yes or no. If we are unable to help financially, we will send you a curated list of other organizations that may be able to assist. We never just go silent.

Q: Can GBF help with diagnostics or initial vet visits?

A: Not at this time. We require a confirmed diagnosis and treatment plan before reviewing an application. We cannot fund exploratory diagnostics. If you are in the process of getting a diagnosis and need financial help for that, please reach out — we may be able to refer you to programs that can help at that stage.

Q: My dog is in end-of-life care. Can GBF help with those costs?

A: Palliative and comfort care costs are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please apply and describe your situation. Even if we cannot cover costs, we have end-of-life resources and support to offer.

Q: Will GBF send money to me directly?

A: No. All financial grants are paid directly to your treating veterinary clinic. We never send funds to individuals. This protects both the fund and the families we help.
